PACKAGE!

We received a package in the mail.  It was waiting for us when we returned home from our trip to Madang.  The vacation seemed to just keep going and going.

 

Before we left the States, I was able to be a “stay at home mom” for almost 6 months.  During that time, we were regulars at a playgroup with all our church friends and their kids.  Well, those kids have all grown up and even have new siblings…..some of which we have yet to meet in person!  This package was from the families of those kids who attended the playgroup.

 

Ben was in HEAVEN!  He got so many toys and activities that will probably keep him busy until at least Christmas.  He got a couple of new books which he instantly asked that we read to him.  He started coloring and being all crafty just as fast as his little hands could pick up the markers!

 

Don’t think the package was ALL about Ben.  Caleb and I walked away with a ton of chocolate and a new devotional book!  Not to mention, our friends even took the time to gather a lot of the sermons/messages that we have missed from our home church.  We have already listened to two of the messages.  We have said this before, but it ought to be said again: we do not have a pastor here.  There are churches that we can go to in the villages surrounding the center….which are nice.  On Sunday mornings, there is a worship service, but the person who speaks varies from week to week.  So, this packages brought tears to my eyes just knowing that we would have a chance to hear the messages from our home sending church.

 

THANK YOU Susan, Suzanne, Marisa and Kelly (and their husbands and adorable kids)!  It sounds SO cheesy, but this package was just like receiving a hug from our good friends.  We miss you and appreciate your friendship more than you probably even realize!

Almost forgot!  Another cool thing about this package is that it contained current pictures of all of Ben’s friends from the playgroup.  We made them into little collages and hung them up on Ben’s wall.  He has so much fun showing them off (he is VERY good with remembering names).  He will say, “And this is Anna and this is Bridget and this is Weeeeeeel (for Will)”.  Then, he tells his friends, babysitter, adults, really anyone who will listen, “They all live in Merica”. =0)
