International Christmas!

Christmas morning was so nice.  Ben slept in, so we actually had to go and wake him up!  As soon as he remembered it was Christmas morning, he went charging out to the living room to see the presents.  Caleb and I enjoyed some great PNG coffee and we all opened our gifts and stockings to Christmas music (an acoustic guitar CD by one of the high schoolers here in PNG).

At 1pm, we were invited to a Christmas Feast- British Style!  Our friends Phil and Kate (and their two sons Simeon and Josh) hosted an amazing Christmas afternoon.  There were 10 adults (half American and half British) and 7 kids!  It was a rainy and cool day (which is uncommon this time of year), so it actually felt a bit cold.  We don’t have a fireplace in our apartment, so we really enjoyed sitting by the fire in theirs.

Dinner was fantastic!  It was a mix between American favorites (green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole) and other international foods.  YUM!

After dinner, Ben took a LONG nap……and Caleb and I got to play the board game Agricola.  Before we knew it, it was already after 6pm!

Hope you enjoy the pictures from our time at Phil and Kate’s!
