Ben's New Ride

Ok….a little back history for you:  When Caleb was a kid, as most of you know, he lived here in PNG.  His family were very good friends with Ray and Glenda.  Ray and Glenda are Australians and they are the director’s for the training course that we just finished.  BUT….they were on furlough (basically, they had served so long the mission field, they went home for some time to see their friends, family and partners….AND their kids were getting married and having a baby, etc, etc).  We were so sad that they were not our directors, but we are hopeful that we will see them sometime while we are in country.

That being said, our directors for the training course were Steve and Paula (and they have three kids: Anna, Timothy and Daniel).  Not only were they fabulous directors….and we mean that….they were GREAT….but, they are also our new neighbors!  They live above us in the four-plex.  Their kids play SO well with Ben.  Their youngest is 6, but he is so sweet and always comes by to see if Ben wants to go to the playground with him.  Anna plays clarinet and has guinea pigs….and she always comes by to see if Ben wants to see what she is doing.  Again….we are so blessed to live so close to this great family.

Well, Mr. Steve (Mister Steeeeeeve,,,,as Ben likes to say) is an aircraft mechanic.  He can build ANYTHING.  We had heard about this car that he built, but we finally got to see it.  Seriously, this man either found all the parts or shipped the parts from Australia….then, he just made a car!  And….look who got to ride around in it!  Be jealous!  Go ahead!
