I have to admit that when everyone was posting on Facebook about the end of the world, I had NO idea what they were talking about. But, now that I understand.....someone posted this picture which I thought was really funny:


In completely unrelated news, here is a picture of my friend Jessie. She is the translator that we are the support team for. Currently, she is in the village working on the a project finishing the translation of Luke. This is a picture of her when she was working through an Alphabet class. It is so great to know Bible translators and to see that they are just normal people, who happen to have committed their life to such an amazing cause. Not only are they translating the Bible, but they are creating alphabets and equipped Papua New Guineans to take ownership of their language in order to preserve it.

In my next post, I am going to show pictures of when Caleb went on his "rescue operation". A translator couple (friends of ours) got stuck coming back from their village on Mother's Day. They were there with one other couple. They had just finished an alphabet design workshop (using the skills they learned in the class above) and their vehicle got stuck. Caleb, with two other guys, ventured out in another vehicle to bring the ladies and children home while some of the guys stayed to get the truck out.....more to come....
