…Flip Flop!
Eileen, our neighbor (and one of my 11th grade girls) lost her flip flop in the pit! The pit is a hole in the ground where we throw out all our food scraps. At POC, we called it the pig bucket, because the things you throw into are things you would feet a pig. It is a deep hole that usually stinks and is filled with bugs and probably rats. There is a cement slab around the top, but recently a hole formed next to it. Ben went running across the grass and got his leg stuff in it. The food is a good 5 ft lower, so his leg didn’t touch anything nasty. But, poor Eileen. She was not so lucky….
She went running across the yard and her leg got stuck in it. She fell HARD. All her books went flying. It was very dramatic! When she pulled her leg out, she realized she had LOST her flip flop.
The next day, the good neighbor in me came out…..and I made Caleb construct a flip flop fishing pole! J Success!
