Caleb's parents left this morning. They have been here for the past 10 days! We had such a great time with them! I am going to post a couple of posts (with pictures) from their time with us. We already miss Buna and Grammy! Ben woke up this morning and asked "Are Buna and Grammy still sleeping?" So sad.....
The first part of the week, we stayed close to Fort Collins- showed them the town, biked in to school, worked on house projects and visited Ben's classroom. Pictures to come soon of the before and afters of their projects.
Grammy wrote a Snowman story and read it to Ben's class.
The kids then made a snowman craft and got to eat snowballs (donuts):
After 3 days in town, we loaded into a car and headed to the mountains of Steamboat Springs. Got the token Santa Pic:
Went tubing down Howelson Mountain:
Ate at our favorite '50's style diner (which has the best milkshakes in the world)!
Then, found our own sledding hill for some more thrills and adventure before heading home.
This slope was right by the ski slope. It was only after we left that we saw the sign that said "Construction Zone, No Sledding." It was a GREAT hill!
Unfortunately, the last ride ended with Ben sliding across the pavement- face-first. You can't really see the bruise and scrape in this picture, but you can see the sadness in his heart. :)
Lest you think it ended badly, we all had a great time (Ben included). He likes his battle wound and sports it proudly. On Sunday, I asked him if he wanted to go to Sunday school or sit with us in "Big Church". He promptly exclaimed, "I want to go to Sunday School so I can tell everyone about my sledding crash!"
