Weir Fall 2012 Newsletter

We did not return from PNG with a working computer and the one that we has is GREAT to have, but very basic and not very good for our newsletters or blog.  That being said, I am unable to change our newsletter over into a picture format.

And, we lost most of our contact list....so if you used to receive a newsletter, there is a chance you may not receive this one.  I just hope that people will check out this blog to see the updates.

I am just going to copy and paste the text of our most recent newsletter....and when we can afford a computer again that "gets the job done", then I will re-post it and you will see how pretty it looked.  In the meantime, if you would like to get back on our mailing list, please send an e-mail to calebandadrienneweir@gmail.com.

We must, MUST, point to heaven and say, “That is where our help comes from.  It comes from the Lord.”  Our family is in the middle of the greatest upheaval since we left for PNG about 3 years ago.  We landed on US soil on July 1^st and have not stopped going since then!  We’ve driven over 4000 miles, and stayed in 18 different places (See the list on left)!   As we mentioned in our last letter, we are on “furlish”, spending our time reconnecting with friends and supporters, and looking for that elusive next step.

Well, we’re happy to announce our next step!  Two big opportunities for Caleb have come about in the last month:  He has accepted a position as a Security Specialist for a company in Fort Collins, Colorado.  He will start working there on the 24^th of September while Adrienne returns to NC to manage the packing and relocating!  Also, Caleb will be partnering with Crisis Consultants International (CCI), which is based out of Colorado Springs.  He will continue using his security knowledge to serve the missions community, churches, Christian schools, and independent missionaries.  We are thrilled that God made it possible for us to serve with CCI this early in Caleb’s career.

We will resign from Wycliffe effective Oct. 31^st.  We praise God that all of our needed funds came in and we are out of debt to the Branch.  We encourage each of our supporters to continue to pray for the work of Bible Translation that is going on around the world, and support it financially as they are able. 

Our plan is for Adrienne to continue to serve Wycliffe missionaries by volunteering with the Intercultural Communications Course (ICC) in North Carolina.  She wants to serve with one of the two month-long ICC courses that happen every year.  In Colorado, she is going to pursue serving the international student body that attends Colorado State University there in Fort Collins.  She will also try to find ways to stay connected with the high schools girls she mentored in Papua New Guinea who have recently started college all over the world.

We thank you all for your prayers, your packages, your support and your love over the past 3+ years with Wycliffe!  Our ministry is taking on a new look!  Thank you for partnering with us in those ways!  For those that are interested, we will continue updating folks via the blog and Facebook, so keep an eye out for changes!
